The College of Forestry at Oregon State University is recruiting a full-time (1.0 FTE), 12-month, Assistant Professor of Practice - Extension Specialist in Urban Forestry.

The specialist will be part of the OSU Department of Forest Ecosystems and Society and also part of the OSU Forestry and Natural Resources Extension team that provides non-credit learning experiences on forestry and natural resource issues to a wide range of audiences. Expectations are 45% Extension programming, 30% teaching and advising, 15% applied research and scholarly outcomes, and 10% service and professional development.

The teaching portion will involve undergraduate and graduate level online instruction in urban forestry and arboriculture, and advising students in the Oregon State University Ecampus Graduate Certificate in Urban Forestry program. The minimum education requirement for this position is a Masters degree, and an ISA Certified Arborist credential is also required. The Extension portion will involve providing technical urban forestry expertise and training to other Extension agents, organizations, local governments, and the public.
